{"id":2472,"date":"2022-03-08T12:16:14","date_gmt":"2022-03-08T10:16:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bellhavenharmreductioncentre.co.za\/?p=2472"},"modified":"2022-03-28T14:28:27","modified_gmt":"2022-03-28T12:28:27","slug":"capetalk-africa-melane-interviews-angela-mcbride-on-international-womens-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bellhavenharmreductioncentre.co.za\/?p=2472","title":{"rendered":"CapeTalk &#8211; Africa Melane interviews Angela McBride on International Women&#8217;s Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>&#8211; SANPUD&#8217;s #youarebeautiful event is being organised by women with lived experiences of the stigma and a history of drug use<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; This event aims to celebrate all women, emphasising that &#8216;just because you use drugs, does not mean your worth is any less&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All women deserve to be celebrated on International Women&#8217;s Day, even those whose lives and experiences fall outside of &#8216;the norm&#8217;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s the view of local NPO South African Network of People Who Use Drugs (SANPUD) which is hosting a #youarebeautiful event, this International Women&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SANPUD is encouraging South Africans to join them in an act of kindness towards women who are homeless or using drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Women who use drugs are often marginalised and stigmatised.
